Boston Design Week at White Light

White Light hosts Boston Design Week 2015: David Silva, Rock Beaudoin,
Gregg Riskin, Anastasia Levesque, Yvonne Blacker

Last week, White Light Visual was proud to host a Lunch + Learn event in honor of the second annual Boston Design Week, a 10-day citywide design festival that included over 80 events that celebrate design in the Boston area. Our presentation focused on Dynamic Design + Large Format Visuals: Transforming Corporate, Retail, Institutional and Educational Environments.”

Guests were greeted upon arrival at a custom Boston Design Week counter stand that was designed and produced by White Light featuring an Expolinc display unit. After check in, they received a quick tour of our Beverly studio, which showcases many of our large format printing projects, trade show booth materials, and visual marketing design capabilities.

White Light Visual has been at its Beverly office/studio location
for almost 15 years, and has been in business for over 26.

Inside the conference room, the Boston fans” image shown above is not visible
on the window looking out to the studio, providing privacy with natural light.
Rock Beaudoin shows guests a vibrant image on fabric print technology
process used for a local architecture firm’s portfolio gallery.

Gregg Riskin demonstrates how easy it is to swap printed
graphics on a Visual Magnetics custom installed panel.

During a light lunch, Gregg presented a brief history of White Light Visual which was founded in 1988 by graphic artist Rock Beaudoin. Over the years, with advancements in technological capabilities, White Light has become the go-to creative source for digital imaging and large format printing. In addition, conceptual design, visual marketing and project management are essential parts of what we provide to our core clients. In house design teams, architects, interior designers, photographers, project managers and artists all look to White Light to present their images and identities in the best format to communicate their brand message. Our newly installed custom-designed Boston Design Week wall mural featuring an aerial shot of Fenway Park, was used during our Lunch + Learn presentation as an example of our concept through installation process and ability to create dynamic spaces that are visually engaging.

Step 1: the blank canvas, a bare wall in our conference room with a
window looking out to reception area plus an electrical panel.

Step 2: cover wall in adhesive vinyl printed with a selected image to coordinate with
the ode to Boston sports theme already established in the space. Add vinyl perf film
to window to continue image while allowing partial viewing into the adjoining space.

Step 3: insert exact size panel into interior window frame with architectural hardware
installed to hold a custom plexiglass panel that can be updated as needed.

Step 4: plexiglass panel features the Boston Design Week logo created with both
cut vinyl and dimensional lettering for added depth and visual interest.

Examples of dimensional lettering were passed around for guests to check
out the quality, weight and finish of a variety of available materials.

Boston Design Week guests received a comprehensive White Light Visual
capabilities brochure plus cool samples of Visual Magnetics materials.

It was a real pleasure to have such a design-appreciative group visit the studio. We look forward to hosting future events and giving studio tours upon request.

Making an Impression at a NY Design Show

Design Within Reach // DIFFA Dining by Design
Architectural Digest Home Design Show 2015
– cut vinyl lettering –

At White Light Visual, we design and produce hundreds of large format displays for both permanent and temporary installations. Trade show participants from a wide variety of industries come to us to create visual graphics that will set them apart, while telling the story of their business and brand in a dynamic way.

Where better to find inspiration for this type of creative work, than to take a quick field trip to North Americas premier trade show for the luxury market, The Architectural Digest Home Design Show.

Held annually each March in New York, this show features thousands of products from the very best brands in the interior design category. It also hosts DIFFAs Dining by Design, a table-setting themed collection of vignettes that is a combination of high-end visual marketing and theatrical presentation.

While walking both parts of the show, we discovered many examples of the types of products that we offer our White Light clients. From typography installations using cut vinyl or dimensional lettering; to large scale artful images on paper, vinyl, acrylic or plexiglass; to decorative mounting hardware like architectural standoffs.

Below are just some of our favorite visual design take-aways from the ADHDS 2015. Give us a call when you need to create similar-style show-stopping graphics for your future install projects — temporary or permanent. At White Light studios, we know how to get it done.

Corporate Branding on a Curved Wall

CORPORATE LOBBY MAKEOVER CASE STUDY:
Moody, Famiglietti, Andronico

This dynamic and growing financial services firm, with multiple-facing business units, reached out to White Light Visual for our architectural spaces visual expertise in order to elevate the look of their firm to clients and prospects. White Light Visual conducted multiple site reviews with the client at their Tewskbury, MA location in order to assess the situation and collaborate on the best execution to position the business units underneath the umbrella of the main corporate brand. The results were a more dynamic and polished visual marketing design plan that better connected with the firm's stunning interior design that utilizes tempered glass, stone floors and fine art installations throughout.

BEFORE: corporate signage in the MFA lobby
was underwhelming in both design and scale

DURING: a large band of rich, textured
wallpaper was applied to the curved
wall by White Light Visual

AFTER: dimensional letters in both acrylic and metal
were installed near the center of the curved wall,
along with custom-built frames, layered with plexi-glass
panels and dimensional elements that artistically
showcase the MFA companies

CUSTOM: layered framed plexi-glass
panels with dimensional logo and
satin nickel architectural stand-offs

Contact White Light Visual at

corporate branding makeover.
You will love the results!
